Amanda Yang is the Senior Director of Investor Relations at UC Ventures. She helps with the company’s investor relations strategies and interacts with investors on a daily basis.
Ms. Yang has 10+ years of experience in client relationship management, business development, marketing, product management, and project management. Prior to UC Ventures, Ms. Yang was a financial professional at AXA Advisors, specializing in retirement planning and asset protection.
Ms. Yang earned a master’s degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from New York University, and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Shanghai International Studies University.
She holds the California insurance agent license and is a California licensed real estate agent. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Shanghainese.
Amita Patel is an Associate Counsel at Golden Gate Global and UC Ventures. She assists with legal matters and fund document preparation.
Ms. Patel brings 10 years of legal, operations, and compliance experience to Golden Gate Global and UC Ventures. Prior to Golden Gate Global, Ms. Patel was at Alpine Software Group and Polaris Real Estate Partners.
She earned a JD degree from San Francisco Law School, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from San Francisco State University. Ms. Patel is admitted to the California Bar.
Mr. Hirschfeld brings more than 15 years of extensive institutional experience in commercial real estate which includes multifamily, mixed-use, office, and public works infrastructure. Serving as Vice President of Real Estate/Construction Risk at Citigroup, he successfully managed a revolving portfolio with more than 60 concurrent construction projects. Throughout his tenure, he played a pivotal role in facilitating the closure of over 200 transactions, collectively valued at more than $4 billion in debt and equity. He is licensed in the State of California as a Civil Engineer (PE) and Structural Engineer (SE). Mr. Hirschfeld holds an M.S. in Structural Engineering and Mechanics from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University.
Mr. Rosenbaum is a Director at UC Ventures that oversees strategic aspects of deploying capital, in addition to various FP&A and accounting duties. Prior to UC Ventures, Mr. Rosenbaum was an Audit Associate in the public accounting industry. He worked in the assurance practice of Ernst & Young, serving a variety of clients in the consumer products, bioscience, solar, and aviation industries. His audit clients included Fortune 500 and other publicly traded companies as well as privately-owned companies. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics & Accounting at the University of California, Santa Barbara, College of Letters and Science.
Julie Chang is Managing Director of Investments at UC Ventures in the San Francisco office. Julie has over 10 years of experience in the commercial real estate business having closed over $4 billion of loans and preferred equity transactions across all product types.
Prior to UC Ventures, Ms. Chang was on the San Francisco-based loan originations team at ACORE Capital for nine years where she assisted in the sourcing, structuring, underwriting, and closing of senior and mezzanine loans for over $2 billion of transactions.
Prior to ACORE Capital, she was an associate on the credit & underwriting team at Starwood Property Trust (NYSE: STWD) and underwrote and closed over $2 billion in floating rate construction and bridge loans. Prior to her role on the credit & underwriting team, she was the assistant controller for STWD and responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial reporting to the SEC, investors, and lenders. Ms. Chang started her career in Ernst & Young's Real Estate assurance group in New York City and was responsible for overseeing the planning, budgeting and execution of audit engagements for private and public companies. Ms. Chang graduated with honors from SUNY Binghamton's School of Management earning a B.S. degree in accountancy.
Kamyar Amiri-Davani serves as the Managing Director of Investor Relations at UC Ventures. He brings over a decade of experience in the alternative finance industry.
Prior to joining UC Ventures, Mr. Amiri-Davani co-founded Uglobal, a leading platform for education and networking among investors, professionals, and lenders. He co-founded EB5Investors.com and OpportunityZone.com, also leading their respective industries as platforms promoting various economic development programs. Mr. Amiri-Davani served as vice president of the company, bringing experience in management, marketing, product development, and publishing. He previously co-founded LawQA, a free legal information web platform acquired by Total Attorneys in 2011, and served as a director of marketing and corporate development at the digital media company Outclick Media.
In 2019, Mr. Amiri-Davani was appointed by the California Governor Gavin Newsom to the California Workforce Development Board where he currently serves as a board member. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Mr. Jorgensen brings over two decades of institutional real estate investment and finance experience to the company. Mr. Jorgensen was a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Point Lobos Capital, a value anchored, global, investment firm. He was previously at Farallon Capital Management, a global institutional asset management firm where he focused on opportunistic real estate investments and an Investment Banking Analyst at Lehman Brothers. Mr. Jorgensen earned his M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and graduated summa cum laude with College Honors from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Sara Mai is the Managing Director of Accounting and Finance at UC Ventures. She manages and oversees the accounting, third-party fund administration, financial planning & analysis, reporting, tax compliance, treasury, human capital, technology, and general company operations.
Ms. Mai has 20+ years of accounting and finance experience in real estate investment, blockchain development, and digital assets. Prior to UC Ventures, Ms. Mai was the Head of Finance at Tari Labs and Associate Director in Gen II Fund Services. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Asset Investment Service at BNY Mellon and Deutsche Bank in San Francisco, California.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Minnesota. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and fluent in English and Mandarin.
Serena Zhang is a Director of Investor Relations at UC Ventures. She helps lead investors through their entire investment process, maintaining ongoing communications with partners, and organizing investor events together with the Investor Relations team. She manages documentation and expands the investor client base through existing relationships.
Ms. Zhang was born in Beijing and studied in the United States since high school. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Economics from Occidental College, Los Angeles. She is fluent in Mandarin.
Mr. Kay represents entities and individuals involved in the business of developing and owning improved and unimproved real property. Some of these include Lennar Homes, Lennar Community Builders and Mills Corporation Real Estate Trust. Mr. Kay is recognized as a special advisor to several government and business leaders in the City of San Francisco and the State of California, including the City of San Francisco Mayor’s Office, the 49ers, former Mayor Willie Brown, and many other elected government officials. He is also a founding member of Kay & Merkle, LLP, a widely respected San Francisco law firm. Mr. Kay received his A.B. from UC Berkeley and his LLB from the University of San Francisco.
Jeff DeCicco is the Chief Executive Officer of an affiliate broker-dealer, 3G Financial LLC. He is an experienced finance professional having spent nearly 20 years on Wall Street in trading, institutional sales, and private equity.
Prior to 3G Financial, Mr. DeCicco was the CEO of one of the most successful FINRA-registered broker dealers affiliated with an EB-5 regional center. He is a pioneer in non-traditional EB-5 markets in South Asia and the Middle East, specifically playing an integral part in making India EB-5’s largest market. He is a frequent speaker and panelist on both EB-5 and securities-related issues in the United States and abroad and has been interviewed by mainstream news channels in South Asia and the Middle East.
Mr. DeCicco began his career as an interest rate derivatives trader on the Chicago Board of Trade. Later, he worked as an equity derivatives sales trader for two of the leading inter-dealer brokers in the world, ICAP and BGC Partners. Prior to moving to the EB-5 industry, he was the co-head of equity derivatives for Mint Partners (a division of BGC Partners).
Mr. DeCicco earned a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and holds the FINRA Series 7, 66, 24, and 4 licenses. He also holds the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designation from the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS).
